Report of the consultation on wind project in Juchitan, Mexico

The Project on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, AC (ProDESC) and the Project on Organizing, Development, Education and Research (PODER), together with the Committee of Integral Defense of Human Rights Gobixha AC (DH Code), were part of the observation mission that submitted a report on the consultation process for a wind project planned in the city of Juchitan, Oaxaca, Mexico.

These organizations were part of the observation mission during the consultation phase so-called "Previous Agreements" for a wind project development company Eólica del Sur, before Mareña Renovables, in the Zapotec community of Juchitan, Oaxaca.

The document reported violations to the principles of the right to consultation, considering the conditions of informed, culturally relevant, transparent, free and in good faith that must prevail in compliance with the highest international human rights standards.
