Magdalena Sepúlveda Carmona is the independent expert on the question of human rights and extreme poverty at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights since May 2008. Sepulveda  is currently working as Research Director at the International Council on Human Rights Policy. She lectures at several universities in Latin America and has provided technical assistance and training on human rights to NGOs, IGOs and governments.
