This policy brief, published by the Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID), concentrates on three issues. The first is the basic concept of illicit financial flows (IFFs) and their disproportional gender impact, in relation to the drain in developing countries of critical resources, for the advancement of women’s human rights. The second is the current legal and political frameworks that allow multinational corporations to benefit from tax abuse to the detriment of people and planet. Lastly, the third issue focuses on policy recommendations, from a feminist perspective, on how to demand transparency and corporate accountability in order to curb illicit financial flows.
