The mines and minerals amendment bill: its promises and pitfalls

The Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA) published this report analyzing their findings after researching the current legal developments in Zimbabwe's mining sector, particularly centered on developments in the legislative framework. The report is an analysis of the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill (MMAB), and a descriptive account of the context in which those provisions have to be understood. Thus, the legislative analysis is grounded into reality and practical developments observed by the researcher through years of research, activism, advocacy and participation in extractive sector activities.
