Nigeria: Urgent Action - Support MOSOP!

ESCR-Net asks the government of Nigeria to protect the members of the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP), an ESCR-Net member organization. Member homes have been invaded and their lives have been threatened. ESCR-Net also encourages other organizations to send their own letters of solidarity to the Nigerian government.

The communication alleged that the military government of Nigeria was guilty of, amongst other things, violations of the right to health, the right to dispose of wealth and natural resources, the right to a clean environment and family rights, due to its condoning and facilitating the operations of oil corporations in Ogoniland.
