Information from Sex-Worker Forum of Vienna, Austria to the UN CEDAW Committee for the examination of the State party report of Austria at the 54th Session in February 2013

This report was submitted with respect to Article 6 of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), which obliges states to “take all appropriate measures, including legislation, to suppress all forms of traffic in women and exploitation of prostitution of women”. The report concerns the reference period 2004 to 2012 and informs about the human rights situation of women in voluntary sex work as well as about the situation of trafficked and sexually exploited women.
