Training course on monitoring economic, social and cultural (ESC) rights

The Training course on monitoring economic, social and cultural (ESC) rights is a joint initiative of both the Graduate Institute of Development Studies (IUED) and the Human Rights Information and Documentation Systems, International (HURIDOCS). The course will provide staff from development and human rights institutions (NGO, governmental, intergovernmental), The course will provide staff from small and medium organisations (in particular NGOs) with the know-how to get started in monitoring ESC rights, or in-depth knowledge to enhance their ESCR monitoring work. It will have a very practical and hands-on focus and will concentrate on the content of economic, social and cultural rights, on the strategies for monitoring ESC rights and documenting the violation and realization of an ESC right; and on advocacy strategies to use the international human rights mechanisms.
