5/14-5/15/2009 Regional Consultation of UN Special Representative on Business and Human Rights
Palacio San Martín, Arenales 761, Buenos Aires-Argentina.
The responsibilities of companies with regard to human rights are unclear and sometimes confusing: what is the role of the state, what is the role of the company? In order to bring clarity to this issue, the UN Secretary General appointed John Ruggie as his Special Representative on business and human rights. The Government of Argentina has invited Professor John Ruggie to Buenos Aires to convene a broader regional consultation of stakeholders on business and human rights.
This stakeholder consultation will take place in Buenos Aires on May 14 and 15, 2009 . We would be delighted if you could attend the consultation. You will find attached a draft agenda of the event. The event is free and by invitation only with a restricted number of participants to ensure maximum interactivity and dialogue.
