Governments will be gathering in New York this September to adopt the Post-2015 Development Agenda which will set development priorities for the next 15 years. Unsurprisingly, the Agenda fails to genuinely transform the global architecture that has created the climate crisis and unprecedented levels of inequality.

Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development, Ibon International, Asia Pacific CSO Engagement Mechanism, and a global network of grassroots organizations, unions, social movements and NGOs under the banner of Campaign for Peoples’ Goals for Sustainable Development are organizing the People’s General Assembly on Sunday,September 27, 2015 at 5:30PM in New York City.

This event provides an opportunity to hear the stories that governments in the United Nations did not want the international community to hear!

The People’s General Assembly will gather speakers from grassroots organizations and social movements from all over the world to share their experiences of development policies and present a transformative framework. We will discuss ways of addressing persistent and structural crises of environment, finance, food, democracy, growing inequalities, and ways of working towards Development Justice.
