Agenda 2030, a new global sustainable development framework to replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), will be adopted at the United Nations General Assembly this month, but can it deliver on its promises?  

The ESCR-net is pleased to inform you that the Center for Economic and Social Rights is organizing a  panel event bringing together leading figures from the fields of human rights advocacy, academia and the UN to reflect critically on the progress made in securing human rights in Agenda 2030. 

Panelists will include: 

  • Philip Alston – UN Special Rapporteur on Extreme Poverty and Human Rights 

  • Alicia Ely Yamin – Policy Director, FXB Center for Health and Human Rights, Harvard University 

  • James Goldstone – Executive Director, Open Society Justice Initiative
