Exercises on Budget Analysis and ESCR

Take the Budget Challenge!  During the 2006 learning program on budget analysis and human rights in

Buenos Aires, Argentina, Zahirul Islam suggested as a possible follow-up action to the training that exercises on different budget analysis tools be sent to participants.

This seems like a good idea to keep these concepts fresh in the minds of those who came to the training but also to provide some introductory skills and concepts for those who are new to budget analysis.

Vivek Ramkumar from IBP has developed some new exercises on Ratios, Inflation and on Measuring Changes over time. We will introduce one of these topics every month using as an introduction material developed for the workshops and circulate the corresponding exercises with this group. The answers and explanations will appear at the bottom of the page.

We hope you find these exercises valuable, interesting and fun and a good introduction to budget analysis skills!   Should you have any comments, input and ideas on other issues you would be interested in learning, or on how to make the most of this process, please write to us using the mailing list on Budget Analysis and ESCR.  You can subscribe to the listerv by clicking here
