The International Network for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR-Net) involves 240 Members in 68 countries, together building “a global movement to make human rights and social justice a reality for all.”

 

• Economic, social and cultural rights now fully justiciable at the international level! The Optional Protocol on ESC rights comes into force in May 2013.

• Restituting land to the Endorois People: a 40-year process - meeting on enforcement held in Nairobi, Kenya.

•  Civil society meeting furthers strategic agenda on business & human rights following UN Forum.

• Social Movement Working Group strengthens alliances and advances new collaborations.

• Collective intervention on Mining Indaba challenges links between development aid & extractive industries.

• New ESCR-Net Board elected.
