Western Shoshone Defense Project (WSDP)
Western Shoshone Defense Project (WSDP)'s mission is to affirm Newe (Western Shoshone) jurisdiction within Newe Sogobia (Western Shoshone homelands) by protecting, preserving, and restoring Newe rights and lands for present and future generations based on Newe cultural and spiritual tradition.
WSDP has an abridged version of the new film "Our Land Our Life: The Struggle for Western Shoshone Land Rights". It presents the struggle of Carrie and Mary Dann, two Western Shoshone elders, to address the threat mining development poses to the sacred and environmentally sensitive lands of Crescent Valley, Nevada. It has been gracefully presented to ESCR-Net by the Western Shoshone Defense Project in collaboration with Oxfam America. It was produced and directed by Gage and Gage Productions.
