Ahmed Elseidi is a human rights lawyer based in Egypt who has a long history working on environmental rights. He worked with former member Habi Center for Environmental Rights from 2013 until the center was closed in 2018 as the director of the legal aid unit. During his time with Habi, Elseidi was engaged in cases brought against cement companies, holding them responsible for pollution consequences of their activity using coal as fuel. In this context, Elseidi has engaged in a struggle to ensure the implementation of a state policy to ban the use of coal as an alternative fuel in Egypt.
