The notion that women are peaceful during times of war has been turned upside down as a result of the work done by Diana Castillo Murrle and Luz Maria Londoño, the writers of From Diverse Edges: A Teaching Manual. The book, which is also available as a documentary, talks about victims and aggressors, the causes and effects, reconciliation and peace, and the war today. The researchers will speak about the state of women in the illegal armed forces and their eventual demobilization and social reintegration. The conference will take place in the Engineering School, 19-104, in Antioquia University, on September 29, 2010 at 6pm. Entrance is free. For more information, email comunicaciones@iner.udea.edu.co
