Coursera and the University of Michigan are partnering to conduct a free online course, "Questionnaire Design for Social Surveys" regarding  basic elements of designing and evaluating questionnaires. From 1 June 2015 until 15 August 2015, professors from the University of Michigan will educate students on the stages of questionnaire design: developmental interviewing, question writing, question evaluation, pretesting, and questionnaire ordering and formatting. The class will review literature on questionnaire construction, the experimental literature on question effects, and the psychological literature on information processing. Sign-up is free for all, and lectures will be conducted in English. Students will be expected to dedicate 2-4 hours per week on the class, which will be comprised of lecture videos and quizzes. Students will be required to complete a final exam. This class may be beneficial for those looking to or already use surveys in the field and to those who evaluate survey data as part of their work.
