In 2016, the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) celebrates 25 years of promoting and protecting human rights. To commemorate this milestone, FORUM-ASIA created 'Our Struggle for Human Rights - 25 Years of FORUM-ASIA' - a publication which serves as a reflection on the past and future of human rights work in Asia. The publication was launched at an event on 8 January 2016, at the Pridi Banomyong Institute in Bangkok, Thailand. The online version can be found on http://25.forum-asia.org/

The commemorative publication features stories and information about the beginnings of FORUM-ASIA, various key developments over the years, and upcoming challenges presented throughout different chapters, cases, organizational profiles and videos. The content for FORUM-ASIA's anniversary publication was collected in different ways, including 36 interviews, the participation of 80 people in different meetings and consultations, and written contributions from 35 people. Documents from the FORUM-ASIA archive, as well as from online sources, were used to finalize different parts of the publication.

The section dedicated to reflections on the future of human rights in Asia was organized according to nine trends that are considered to be a cause for concern in relation to the human rights context in the region and, as such, should be the focus of our collective efforts in the coming decades.
