CLAPV is a legal-aid office established in October, 1998, at China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing, China. As one of the most effective environmental groups in China, CLAPV conducts case law analysis, comparative studies of environmental laws and regulations, organizes victim and client consultations, provides legal education to the general public and legal assistance in litigations. CLAPV also strengthens cooperation with the European Union. In 2012, CLAPV launched the EU-China Environmental Governance Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China and the European Union, to shed light on the environmental protection in development projects in Western China.
