Inclusive Development International and Equitable Cambodia launched a new resource for the defense of land and housing rights: Avoiding Forced Evictions: A Community Guide to Negotiation and Advocacy (Cambodian Edition)

This guide aims to help communities prepare for negotiations with companies or government authorities seeking to take their land or evict them from their homes. It contains lessons on how to address the radically uneven power relations in these sorts of negotiations by situating negotiation within a broader advocacy strategy. Through case studies and interactive exercises, this four day training course guides facilitators to teach important principles and skills to strengthen the negotiation capability of leaders and representatives of communities facing forced displacement.

This version of the guide is written for the Cambodian context, but can easily be adapted for use in other countries. IDI will soon publish a new version of the guide for a wider audience.

The guide is available for download here.
