Hungría defiende el derecho de las mujeres romaní a la igualdad en las instituciones de salud

En febrero de 2016, una mujer romaní dio a luz en un hospital público de Miskolc, al nordeste de Hungría. Mientras gritaba de dolor durante el parto, la partera le gritó “si vuelves a gritar te tapo la cara con la almohada”. Cuando la mujer pidió disculpas, el médico le dijo: “si hubieras gritado otra vez hubiera llamado al psiquiatra para que te quiten el bebé y no recibirías beneficios por hijo, porque, igual, ¡ustedes las gitanas solo vienen a parir por el dinero!”.

Hungary upholds Romani women’s right to equality in health institutions

In February 2016, a Romani woman gave birth a public hospital in Miskolc, north-eastern Hungary. During labour she cried out with pain and the midwife yelled at her “if you shout once more I will push the pillow into your face”. When the woman apologised, the doctor said to her “if you had shouted once more I would have called the psychiatrist to take away child away and then you wouldn’t receive Child Benefit, because anyway, you gypsies give birth only for the money!”

El derecho a decidir y rechazar la esterilización, reafirmado en la India

En enero de 2012, hasta 53 mujeres fueron sometidas a un procedimiento de esterilización en Bihar, India, en un campo de esterilización administrado por una ONG que había obtenido acreditación de la District Health Society, aparentemente sin un proceso formal y transparente. Las mujeres no habían recibido ningún tipo de asesoramiento respecto de los posibles peligros y resultados de los procedimientos de esterilización.

في يناير/كانون الثاني 2012 خضع ما يناهز 53 امرأة لجراحات تعقيم في ولاية بيهار بالهند، في مخيم للتعقيم تديره منظمة غير حكومية مُنحت الاعتماد من الجمعية الصحية الإقليمية، على ما يبدو دون اتباع إجراءات رسمية شفافة. لم تُمنح النساء أية مشورة حول المخاطر والنتائج المحتملة لعملية التعقيم. خضعت للجراحة في مدرسة بدلاً من مستشفى، بشكل غير أخلاقي وفي غياب النظافة الكافية، على يد جراح واحد، على ضوء كشاف، فوق طاولة من طاولات المدرسة، ودون توفر مياه جارية أو قفازات معقمة. تعرضت نساء كثيرات منهن لألم بدني كبير بعد العملية، ثم تقدمن ببلاغات للشرطة.

L'Inde réaffirme le droit de choisir et refuser la stérilisation

En janvier 2012, 53 femmes ont subi une procédure de stérilisation à Bihar, en Inde, dans un camp de stérilisation géré par une ONG qui avait obtenu l’accréditation de la Société sanitaire du district, apparemment sans suivre un processus officiel transparent. Les femmes n’avaient reçu aucun conseil concernant les dangers et conséquences potentiels des procédures de stérilisation.

Right to choose and refuse sterilization reaffirmed by India

In January 2012, up to 53 women underwent a sterilization procedure in Bihar, India, at a sterilization camp managed by an NGO which had been granted accreditation by the District Health Society, apparently without following any formal, transparent process. The women had not been given any counseling regarding the potential dangers and outcomes of the sterilization procedures. They were operated on in a school rather than a hospital, in an unsanitary and unethical manner, all by a single surgeon, under torchlight on top of a school desk, and without running water or sanitary gloves.

La recolección de datos de niños que viven con VIH debe respetar el derecho a la privacidad

El 23 de febrero de 2015, el presidente Kenyatta emitió una directiva nacional, que fue distribuida entre varias entidades gubernamentales nacionales, ordenando a todos los Comisionados de Condados recoger datos y preparar un informe sobre todos los niños que asisten a la escuela que viven con VIH y SIDA, así como sobre los guardianes, embarazadas y madres en etapa de lactancia que viven con VIH y SIDA.

Le 23 février 2015, le président Kenyatta a émis une directive nationale, dont une copie a été transmise à plusieurs entités gouvernementales nationales, ordonnant à tous les commissaires de comté de recueillir des données et d’élaborer un rapport sur tous les enfants scolarisés vivant avec le VIH et le sida, ainsi que sur les tuteurs et les femmes enceintes et allaitantes vivant avec le VIH et le sida.

في 23 شباط/فبراير 2015، أصدر الرئيس كينياتا توجيها وطنيا، أرسِلت نُسخ منه عدة جهات حكومية ووطنية، يأمر بمقتضاه جميع المفوضين في المقاطعات بجمع البيانات وإعداد تقرير عن كل الأطفال في سن المدرسة المتعايشين مع فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية والإيدز، كذلك عن أولياء الأمور والحوامل والأمهات المرضعات المتعايشين مع فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية والإيدز.

Data collection on children living with HIV must respect the right to privacy

On February 23, 2015, President Kenyatta issued a national directive, copied to several national government entities, ordering all County Commissioners to collect data and prepare a report on all school-going children living with HIV and AIDS, as well as guardians and expectant and breastfeeding mothers living with HIV and AIDS.
