The ESCR-Net Women and ESCR Working Group, in partnership with the Permanent Mission of Finland to the United Nations, is pleased to bring together women’s rights advocates from different regions of the world to discuss women’s economic, social and cultural rights in relation to work.

Members of the panel will highlight the impact of global economic policies on women’s rights, share specific case studies and grassroots experiences of women directly impacted by various forms of discrimination (with a focus on domestic workers, the care economy and the exploitation of workers), and discuss confronting related inequalities and injustices via the international human rights framework. Maria Virgínia Brás Gomes, member of the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights will highlight General Comment No. 23 (2016) on the Right to just and favorable conditions of work.
