Narasha Community Development Group (NCDG)

Narasha Community Development Group is a grassroots organization that works to advocate and defend the rights of the marginalized, indigenous and vulnerable communities living in the Olkaria region in Kenya via partnering with like-minded groups at both national and international levels to promote the dignity of all such people regardless of their social, economic and physical status.

The Narasha Community Development Group has defended the rights of communities who were being evicted by a geothermal power company to make way for power plant and industrial park in Olkaria region, Kenya. They have supported people who had been forcibly displaced and resettled to engage with the World Bank Inspection Panel and other non-judicial recourse mechanisms. They have also assisted communities whose livestock is affected by environmental pollution to monitor contaminants in their local waters and claim their rights in cases where environmental impacts have proven harmful.
