Binota Moy Dhamai is a former board member of ESCR-Net and a human rights defender working on  cross-cutting issues that affect Indigenous Peoples, with self-determination and autonomy closely linked to their political, economic, social, and cultural rights under international human rights laws and instruments like the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and the International Labour Organization Convention No. 169 for Indigenous and Tribal Peoples.

Binota Moy Dhamai was affiliated with the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP). In that capacity and since 2016, he has been  involved with ESCR-Net, participating at the Global Strategy Meeting in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was involved in the Social Movement Working Group, and contributed to shaping the Common Charter of Collective Struggle. He continues to be involved in several working groups of ESCR-Net, such as the Social Movement Working Group, Corporate Accountability Working Group, Environment and Climate Change Advisory Group, Economic Policy Working Group, and has also contributed to the Strategic Litigation Working Group.
