The Andean Coordinator of Indigenous Organizations (CAOI) express concerns regarding the eviction of CONAIE from their office

The International Network on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR-Net), the Centre for Law, Justice and Society (Dejusticia) and the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) organized the first Latin America Strategic Workshop on Enforcement of Positive Decisions on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in Bogota (Colombia) on February 7-8, 2013, bringing together 20 lawyers and activists from across the region. The workshop was supported by the Ford Foundation and the University of Los Andes.

The Coordinadora de Andina de Organizaciones Indigenas (Coordinator of Andean Organizations), member of ESCR-Net’s Social Movement Working Group, celebrates a new executive council.

 

The Centro de Derechos Económicos y Sociales (CDES) celebrates the Norwegian government's decision, announced on Monday Oct. 2, to cancel the debt of five countries, including Ecuador, equivalent to 80 million dollars. With this act, the Norwegian government has recognized the illegitimate nature of those debts contracted during the decade of the 70s to favor its Ship Export Campaign. This case has been widely documented by CDES since 2001.
