The Comision Mexicana de Defensa y Promocion de los Derechos Humanos (CMDPDH) seeks to promote and advance human rights through education, research, analysis, promotion and dissemination in the field of human rights, and participation in the design cycle, implementation and evaluation of public policies in Mexico. The CMDPDH also seeks to advance human rights in providing legislative proposals and advice to both national and international organizations and institutions.

The CMDPDH has 20 years of experience in defending victims of human rights violations and the promotion of a culture in this area that serves to strengthen the rule of law. During this time, CMDPDH has set legal precedents of great importance in a variety of areas including: military justice, due process rights, transitional justice and violence against women, and is a continual participant in the struggle for the economic, social and cultural rights of Mexicans.
