Consejo Cívico de Organizaciones Populares e Indígenas de Honduras (COPINH)

Consejo Cívico de Organizaciones Populares e Indígenas de Honduras (COPINH) is a social and political, pluralist and broad-based indigenous non-profit organization, based in the south-western zone of Honduras with national reach. It is an entity that facilitates the vindication and recognition of political, social, cultural and economic rights, promoting the improvement of the living conditions of the indigenous Lenca people and Honduran communities. It is also a space that generates constant debate and analysis of the regional and national situation, which promotes actions and proposals on a permanent basis.

Since its foundation in 1993, COPINH has carried out permanent work in defense of the territory and the common goods of nature along with an anti-patriarchal struggle and the defense of the human rights of indigenous peoples and women, men, boys, girls, elderly women, and the fight against all types of discrimination against the human being.
