Magalí Brosio

Brosio is a Doctoral Researcher at the Birmingham Law School, University of Birmingham. Her research focuses on how the indicators selected to measure progress in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) fail to address the priorities and concerns of women and people from disadvantaged groups and what can be done to change this. More concretely, Brosio is studying the indicators that seek to measure the legal dimensions of development, with a special emphasis on “the rule of law” and how this concept relates to human rights. Through this process, she focuses on the access that civil society organizations and grass-roots movements have to global governance discussions, the formal and informal barriers that people face when trying to participate in those spaces and what can be done in order to democratize them.
