The Colombian Commission of Jurists is a non-profit non-governmental human rights organization that seeks to contribute to the development of international human rights law and international humanitarian law, in accordance with the purposes and principles of the United Nations Chart; the full force of human rights and the rule of law in Colombia.

Their vision is to be a reference point on human rights, nationally and internationally, defending and promoting a comprehensive approach to human security based on the respect and realization of human rights, both as an end and as a means, from the perspective of the right to truth, justice, and reparation, aiming for an equitable distribution of land and the right to work as a means of achieving peace, development, and prosperity in our country, with special emphasis on farmers, workers, ethnic groups, displaced people, women, and children.

Their strategic objectives include:

  1. Contributing to the improvement of the situation of human rights and humanitarian law in Colombia and to the fulfillment of the social and democratic rule of law, as enshrined in the 1991 Constitution.
  2. Promoting respect for international humanitarian law, to contribute to a negotiated solution to the armed conflict, and to achieve a lasting peace based on human rights, particularly on the rights to truth, justice, and reparation, as well as on the restitution and redistribution of land.
  3. Promoting and contributing to the development, strengthening, and efficacy of the international human rights protection systems, in terms of monitoring and international protection procedures, as well as regarding the normative framework for the recognition of human rights.
  4. Strengthening and developing the CCJ internally so it will achieve its objectives.
