Latin American Training Program on Budget Work and Economic and
Social Rights:
August 17-26, 2009 / Buenos Aires, Argentina

ESCR-Net, together with the Centro de Estudios Legales y Sociales (CELS), Asociación Civil por la Igualdad y la Justicia (ACIJ), Fundar -Centro de Análisis e Investigación, International Budget Partnership (IBP), and International Human Rights Internship Program, is organizing a Latin American Training Program on Budget Work and Economic and Social Rights in Buenos Aires, Argentina from August 17-26, 2009. The program is aimed at activists involved in development work, social and economic justice movements, human rights organizations and applied budget groups based in and working in Latin American countries.  Program participants will acquire the basic skills needed to read and analyze budgets, assess situations within a rights framework, and relate budgets to economic, social and cultural rights obligations.  They will also explore how these combined skills can be used in their ongoing advocacy efforts.  This training is part of a series of regional and global trainings that ESCR-Net has been organizing together with IHRIP, Fundar -Centro de Análisis e Investigación and IBP.
