La Fundación de Estudios para la Aplicación del Derecho (FESPAD) is a human rights organization committed to gender equality, empowerment, collective leadership, and legal-political analysis and support as fundamental to a constitutional and democratic rule of law that advances social justice.
Ten years ago, FESPAD participated in the formation of the Regional Team for Human Rights Monitoring and Analysis in Central America, releasing the first “Human Rights and Conflict in Central America Report”. FESPAD has also contributed to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), and, in 2014, submitted an alternative report on ESCR to the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) in Geneva. In addition, FESPAD is active in the realm of labor and union rights, and is a member of the Mesa Nacional frente a la Minería Metálica de El Salvador, which advocates against metal mining in the country.
