Developed by AWID (Association for Women’s Rights in Development), the Feminist Economic Alternatives Brief is a political tool for feminist and climate justice activists attending COP30. It highlights how communities across the Global South are advancing transformative, care-centered solutions — from agroecology networks in West Africa to solidarity economies in Brazil and feminist-led energy transitions in Zimbabwe.
Grounded in ecofeminist and decolonial principles, the brief exposes the harm of corporate capture, militarism, and debt, while demanding climate finance for community-driven initiatives and systems of care. Its Key Demands build on feminist contributions from movements around the world, including the Rabat Roadmap, ESCR-Net and the Women and Gender Constituency, calling for climate solutions grounded in economic, social, environmental, and gender justice.
