Debt, Taxation and Public Finance

The project aims to build shared analysis and coordinate advocacy actions on debt, taxation, and trade, particularly on unsustainable debts and conditionalities, retrogressive and regressive taxation, and the influx of unfair trade policies threatening the progressive realization of ESCRs. The project facilitates mutual exchanges and learning spaces to generate a deeper understanding among members of the challenges within the global economic system, their origins, structural drivers, and their impacts on the realization and enjoyment of human rights. This analysis informs the development of resources and popular education materials, and collective advocacy actions targeting major actors such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and relevant UN bodies and mechanisms.
