End Date:

Save the date - in particular if you’re an organisation based in or operating in the Western Europe or North America!

You’re all invited to a regional consultation for Northern America and Western Europe on the Human Rights Guiding Principles on the obligations of States regarding private schools on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th March 2017 at UNESCO, in Paris. For more information on the Guiding Principles and the consultation process, see the concept note here http://bit.ly/2ifLRvE, the dedicated webpage http://bit.ly/GPprivatisation, and the attached document that includes a preliminary agenda outline.

When? 13 and 14 March 2017

Where? UNESCO, Paris

Who’s invited? All civil society organisations operating or based in the Global North (other interested CSOs can contact us), as well as key representatives from States and international organisations

What about logistics? Participants will be expected to cover their own travel and accommodation. Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both days.

We’ll send more information soon, but please keep those days free. If you’re not a Northern organisation but will be around at the time, you’re also of course welcome to join.

If you have any question, comment, or suggestion, or would like to already express your interest, please email Sylvain (GI-ESCR) at sylvain@globalinitiative-escr.org, Mireille (OSF) at mireille.dekoning@opensocietyfoundations.org and Delphine (RTE) at delphine.dorsi@right-to-education.org.

We plan on organising additional consultations for Western Africa, Southern Africa, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific this year – the logistics for those is still being confirmed. If you’re interested in or would like to help with any of those, please let us know. We also encourage anyone interested to organise national consultations.
