Terra de Direitos Director received National Medal of Access to Justice in Brazil

On December 18, Darci Frigo, lawyer and Director of the organization Terra de Direitos of Brazil, received the National Medal of Access to Justice, an award granted by the Ministry of Justice of Brazil to individuals who have contributed to improving access to justice.

The award given to Mr. Frigo, together with Benedito Roberto Barbosa (União dos Movimentos de Moradia de São Paulo-SP) and Marcos Roberto Fuchs (President of the Institute Pro-Bono/São Paulo-SP), comes as part of a commemoration by the Ministry of Justice for ten years of judicial reform, promoted by the constitutional amendment 45/2004.

Darci Frigo  heads Terra de Direitos, an ESCR-Net member, which was created in Curitiba/PR in 2002. He is also part of the National Council for Human Rights in Brazil where he represents another ESCR-Net member, the Brazilian Platform for Human, Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights (Plataforma Dhesca).
