Equis: Justicia para las Mujeres
EQUIS: Justicia para las mujeres is a feminist, human rights organization whose mission is to contribute to the advancement of women’s human rights and gender equality. EQUIS seeks to empower women, establish monitoring, evaluation and accountability, strengthen access to justice and the transformation of laws, policies, and discriminatory practices.
The objectives of Equis are to contribute to the promotion of women’s human rights and gender equality through the use of legal and advocacy strategies at the domestic, regional, and international level; promote transparency in State institutions and accountability for women’s human rights violations in the national and international arena; establish mechanisms that allow for the strengthening of women’s access to justice, in collaboration with regional civil society organizations; advocate for the inclusion of a gender perspective in legislation, programs, and policies from a comprehensive vision of women’s human rights.
EQUIS departs from a comprehensive vision of human rights and seeks to strengthen access to justice and the guarantee of ESCR though its work.
