Stories of Possible Worlds
The increase of the prices of gold and other extraction minerals, provided a new wave of mining expansion in southern countries, especially in Latin America. In this area, the dominant development model allows transnationals to maximize their profits without regard for the terrible effects on health, living conditions and environment.
This documentary is the result of the systematization process of experiences on alternative strategies against the dominant model of natural resources extraction realized by CIDSE, an international network of Catholic agencies of cooperation (www.cidse.org) and partner organizations in seven Latin American countries: Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras and Costa Rica.
