CDES's mission is to promote ESCR in social movements and organizations to promote the discussion, development, and entry into force of an alternative economic, social and political model, through public policy advocacy, interdisciplinary research, lobbying and naming and shaming campaigns, participation and citizen monitoring, and legal action. Thus, CDES seeks to promote development and democratic strengthening for the exercise of rights, contributing to the construction of a model of development with economic and social justice, through political advocacy and strengthened capacity of leaders and social movements.
